I've been asked about how insurance works with regard to the rentals. Well, the normal situation is that renters take out insurance with us at a very reasonable rate as part of the daily hire ... and it protects them.
Recently, we had a renter involved in an accident that resulted in the vehicle being written off!! The good news was that everyone was OK ... and the renter was covered for the costs of the accident, which were worth many thousands of dollars. All that happened was that we kept the $500 holding deposit, which is usually returned to renters when the car comes back to us in good condition.
